Garibaldi is a late heading tetraploid perennial ryegrass selected from a winterhardy germplasm in Northern Europe. In addition to its cold tolerance, Garibaldi was selected for increased regrowth after the first cutting. It also has an excellent resistance to rust and other diseases.
Garibaldi is best suited for silage and grazing. It mixes well with legumes and other late maturing grasses to provide consistent forage production for several years. No-till or broadcast Garibaldi onto thinning pastures to dramatically increase and extend production.
